Welcome to Fexa AI! Connecting your store is the first step towards a catalog fully optimized by artificial intelligence. This guide assists you for a secure installation in less than 5 minutes.

Why connect your PrestaShop to Fexa AI?

Fexa AI is not just a simple analysis tool. It is a copilot that:

  • Real-time analysis: Detects SEO bottlenecks as soon as a product is added.
  • Automates writing: Generates unique metas and descriptions.
  • Technically optimizes: Manages internal linking and ALT tags without code.

Technical Pre-recommendations (AEO Summary)

For a successful connection, make sure to respect these points:

  • PrestaShop Version: 1.7 or higher (stable version recommended).
  • Security: Your SSL certificate must be active (URL in https://).
  • Module: The "Fexa AI - MCP Server" module must be installed and activated.
  • API Access: Your server must authorize external requests (no local/offline server).

Since module version 3.7, this is the simplest way to connect your store — no key to copy-paste.

  1. Log in to your PrestaShop back-office.
  2. Go to Modules > Module Manager, search for "Fexa AI" and click on Configure.
  3. Click the "Connect to Fexa AI" button.
  4. The module shows a verification code (6 characters) and opens Fexa AI.
  5. On Fexa AI, enter that code, confirm it's your store, and validate.

That's it! The code proves you have admin access to the store, and your API key never travels in a URL.

2. Alternative: manual connection with an API key

If you prefer, or if the button doesn't appear, you can connect your store by pasting your key:

  1. In the module configuration, find the "Your API key" section and click "Copy the key".
  2. On Fexa AI, Connect my shop page:
    • Store URL: the exact address (e.g., https://my-store.com).
    • Fexa API key: paste the copied key.
  3. Click Connect. The AI performs an immediate communication test.

3. Validation and Security

Fexa AI uses the MCP (Model Context Protocol) protocol. This is the most secure standard to allow an AI to read and write content on a store without ever accessing your sensitive data (customers, payments, passwords).

Important: You keep full control. No modification is published on your PrestaShop without your manual validation or via your batch settings.

4. Connect Google Search Console (Required for traffic insights)

To see your real performance data (clicks, impressions, CTR) and identify priority SEO opportunities, you must connect your Google Search Console account.

Without this step, you won't be able to:

  • Identify pages with traffic but poor CTR
  • Discover "striking distance" keywords (positions 11-20)
  • Prioritize optimizations based on real search volume

How to connect GSC:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations tab
  2. Click "Connect Google"
  3. Select your Search Console property matching your store
  4. Authorize access to performance data

FAQ: Common Connection Issues

My API key doesn't work? Check that no space has slipped in before or after the key during copy-pasting.

Why is HTTPS required? To protect the transmission of your catalog data between your server and the AI.
